Kids on the Wheel (Ages 9–12: MORNING; Two weeks)

In this two-week-long ceramics camp, we’ll explore the art of throwing clay on a potter's wheel. To start, we’ll dive into the foundations of wheelwork, mastering wedging, centering clay, and shaping cylinders, cups, and bowls. Then, we’ll finish off our works with vibrant glazing techniques to add color and embellishments, as well as to ensure the watertightness of our forms for holding foods and liquids. Together, we’ll experience the wonder of the ceramic process as we combine hand skills and science to transform mud into exquisite works of art that will last for centuries!
