MC2104 Master Class with Erin Fostel
Join Amplify exhibiting artist Erin Fostel for a master class inspired by her artistic viewpoint. Erin Fostel creates meticulous drawings that invite people to consider their connection to the physical spaces they inhabit. In this workshop, Fostel will demonstrate how to create rich tonal values with charcoal. Students will begin with an exercise in creating a continuous value scale, which will include tips for how to use different types of charcoal and how to blend them. Then students will apply those new skills to draw a landscape from a provided photograph. At the end of the session, students will be comfortable using both sticks and pencils, and have a greater level of satisfaction in using this versatile medium. Basic drawing experience is recommended.
