Description

Handbuilding at Home (Ages 13-17)

Instructor: Renee Calway

Explore the new medium of clay through weekly projects designed to build your technical skills, as well as completing a major lidded box project all the way to firing. Through virtually-led demonstrations and exercises, students will learn differences in clay texture, techniques for handbuilding and glazing, and ceramics terminology and processes. Each session will include a minor and major project, as well as guided work time. Some materials will be provided, see the materials list on the MOCA website for which materials will need to be purchased, as well as a schedule of when student works will need to be dropped off and picked up from MOCA for firing.
