Description

Beyond the Basics: Introduction to Digital Photography II

Instructor: Lauren Keim

This course will build upon the material covered in Intro to Digital Photography I and meets at MOCA. Students will use the technical knowledge from the first class to deepen their understanding of how camera settings can artistically impact the final image. Learn how to manipulate light and create compositions that strengthen your images. Through discussion, photo critique and weekly assignments, we will explore a combination of technical and creative elements designed to create stronger, more intentional photographs. In-class videos as well as hands-on activities will further reinforce concepts presented throughout the series. It is recommended that students have a white balance 18% gray card for class, and a 50mm prime lens. Please bring your camera to the first class. The book Within the Frame: The Journey of Photographic Vision by David DuChemin is required. Participants must have taken Introduction to Digital Photography or have permission from the instructor to take the course.
