Wabi-Sabi: Fabric and Fine Art
Instructor: Donna Iona Drozda
Wabi Sabi is often described as an aesthetic; an appreciation of imperfection and the incomplete, honoring the soft patina of objects that come with age. There is a simplicity in discovering the beauty in things around us even though they may show signs of wear and tear. Explore the aesthetic mindset and studio techniques that create the beauty of the Wabi Sabi through a variety of studio materials from painting tools, to photographic techniques, to textiles. Each being transformed into an artful expression through the Wabi Sabi eye. Please bring drawing pencils and a sketchbook; supplies will be discussed in more detail during the first class.
